What’s happening

The UK is holding a National Conversation on Investing for the Global Goals.

What does that mean

The Investing in a Better World initiative will engage the UK public in a discussion about supporting the Global Goals through investment. This will include a national survey and focus groups with people around the country to better understand the level of interest in aligning investment with personal values through supporting the Goals. We will be holding events across the UK to raise awareness of investing for good and sharing practical ways for people to get involved.

Background to the Investing in a Better World initiative

People in the UK give more money to charitable causes than any country in Europe. Every month 13 million people in the UK volunteer, one in three gives to charity, and purchase ethical products and produce. But there is limited opportunity for the public to invest their personal savings or investments in line with their values.

Evidence suggests there is a growing number of people in the UK who want to invest their money in a way which creates positive a positive social and environmental impact. The Investing in a Better World initiative will explore these issues through public engagement and raise awareness of the opportunities to support the Global Goals through investment.
