Greenfield soil declaration (Northern Ireland)

From Northern Ireland Environment Agency

If you move clean, greenfield soil within Northern Ireland in accordance with greenfield soil guidance, it may not be regarded as waste and waste management controls may not apply.

You must submit a completed Greenfield Soil Declaration Form to the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) and be satisfied that you have complied with their guidance before you move the soil.

No formal consent will be issued, but you must retain your paper work for two years as it may be audited to ensure compliance.

Greenfield Soil Declaration applications must be made online.

You should also review waste management licensing requirements.
