In order to reassure first time visitors to the UK that the visa process is straightforward, UKVI has launched a new video Are you thinking of travelling to the UK? to explain each step of the process - from filling out the form online, giving fingerprints at the Visa Application Centre to receiving the visa.

The number of Vietnamese visitors coming to the UK is at a high: the latest visa statistics show a 17% increase of visit visas issued year on year. In the year ending June 2015 over 11,000 visit visas were issued to Vietnamese nationals.

British Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Lever said:

Our aim is to provide a simple and straightforward visa application experience for our Vietnamese customers. This video is another example of the improvements we are making to the visa service to make it quicker and easier for Vietnamese visitors to apply for a UK visa.

Vietnamese visitors will receive a warm welcome in the UK and we want to see the numbers continue to grow. Not only do Vietnamese visitors benefit our economy they take back to Vietnam good memories of the UK, which benefits the wider relationship between our two countries.

The latest stats show that our 5 day Priority Visa continues to grow in popularity. So far this year we have issued nearly 2,000 priority visas which is an increase of 30% when compared to the same period last year.
