UK Minister for Europe David Lidington visits Latvia

The UK Minister for Europe visited Riga on 19-20 January to discuss cooperation during Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The UK Minister for Europe David Lidington and Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs in a common press conference

David Lidington met with the Minister of Defence Raimonds Vejonis, Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs and representatives of the Latvian Parliament. The Minister also had an informal dinner with members of the parliament and opinion formers and gave an interview to the weekly magazine IR.

During his visit the Minister discussed cooperation during Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU, UK views on EU reform, the situation in Ukraine, Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and implementation of NATO Wales summit decisions.
