This optional service will enable UK visas to be printed in Lima in less time.
The Home Office today announced the introduction of a priority visa service for customers in Lima. This service is designed for applicants who, for business or personal reasons, would like their applications to be processed ahead of other applications.
The aim of the new service is to actively taking steps to facilitate the doing of business between the UK and Peru, and to provide the best available service for visitors who need to travel to the UK at short notice.
This optional service, available from Tuesday 16 July, will enable visas to be printed in Lima, removing the need to use a courier service for the transfer of documents.
Commenting on the introduction of the new service the British Ambassador to Peru, James Dauris, said:
“This is an exciting development in the visa service we are offering in Lima and I am delighted that Peru is the first country in the region in which we are introducing this new visa facility. I hope the service will particularly help businessmen and other customers who need to have visas issued quickly and that it will encourage and make it easier for them to travel to Britain.”
The priority visa service is an optional service and incurs an additional fee. The fee will be set at $150 US for non-settlement applications and $300 US for settlement which is consistent with the cost in other Americas posts.
The introduction of the new service is part of the Home Office’s initiative to ease the UK Visa Application journey.
Applicants who choose not to purchase the service will continue to have their application processed within our standard service delivery times. The Home Office’s published processing time for visas (excluding settlement) is to process 90% within 15 working days. Further information about processing times and business visitor and Tier 2 (skilled migrant) visa applications is available at www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk
