I am delighted to be visiting Indonesia, in particular following President Yudhoyono’s historic State Visit to the UK in 2012. Our two great countries have much in common and I’m here to focus on our shared values. We’re working closely together in the UN and G20 on issues such as Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict and I’m very much looking forward to discussions with Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa.

The visit was the latest in an unprecedented round of high-level visits to and from South East Asia over the past two years that have revitalised the British Government’s relationship with the region.

In Indonesia, the powerhouse economy of South East Asia, the Foreign Secretary met with his counterpart Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa to review UK-Indonesian cooperation and discuss international issues of joint interest.
