A British business delegation will visit Namibia from 23 – 24 September in order to seek investment opportunities
A British business delegation will visit Namibia next week from 23 – 24 September in order to seek investment opportunities in the following sectors: Mining, logistics, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, financial sector, disaster risk reduction management, and tourism.
The mission, lead by the UK private sector organisation “British Expertise”, will expose UK companies to the investment opportunities in Namibia. The visit is a response to the request by the Namibian Government for greater commercial engagement by British companies in the Namibian private and public sector.
Besides visits to the Namibian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, National Planning Commission; Roads Authority and the Chamber of Mines, the delegation will meet with representatives of the Ministries of Trade & Industry, Finance, Agriculture, Works & Transport, Defence, Mines & Energy, and Environment and Tourism. The programme will enable Namibian and British companies to jointly develop business opportunities and promote bilateral economic ties.
For background information on Namibia’s economic links with the UK, please see the ‘Doing Business in Namibia Guide’, http://ukinnamibia.fco.gov.uk/resources/en/pdf/pdf1/biz-guide, published in 2012. The guide encourages UK companies to continue looking at investment opportunities in Namibia and serves as a guiding tool for Namibian companies who seek expertise from leading UK companies in their respective fields.
Media Houses are kindly invited to meet the British business delegation on 24 September, 14h30. If interested please contact the British High Commission for details.
