The new British Ambassador to Switzerland, David Moran, presented his credentials to President Didier Burkhalter.

On 14 January the new British Ambassador to Switzerland, David Moran, presented his credentials to President Didier Burkhalter at the Bundeshaus in Berne.

Federal Chancellor Corina Casanova was also in attendance. Ambassador Moran and President Burkhalter discussed a number of issues including President’s Burkhalter’s role as Chairperson of the OSCE in 2014 and the support that Switzerland has provided in hosting recent international negotiations related to Iran and to Syria.

Having served as Head of the Switzerland section of the Foreign Office in London between 1996 and 1998, Ambassador Moran expressed how pleased he was to be returning to Switzerland as Ambassador. The meeting concluded with both President Burkhalter and Ambassador Moran expressing their desire to continue to build on and expand the already excellent bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
