Sport is GREAT: British Embassy Riyadh launches Photo Competition

The British Embassy in Saudi Arabia launched today a photo competition to search for the best image with a powerful caption to inspire people to play a sport.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The winner will receive a T-shirt autographed by Saudi football legend Sami Al-jaber.

One of the aims of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games was to inspire people all over the world towards sports and a healthier living. We are looking for a broad range of images that are creative, positive and of good quality and inspire people to play a sport for a healthy lifestyle.

To enter the competition please send pictures in a JPG format (max size 5Mb) along with a caption in English or Arabic with your name to Riyadh.PublicDiplomacy@fco.gov.uk. The deadline for sending entries is Saturday, 15 March, 2014.

Entries will be uploaded to the Embassy’s Facebook page and Twitter account (@ukinsaudiarabia using #الحركةبركة) where visitors to the page will have a chance to view the best pictures.

The deadline for entries is Saturday 15 March, 2014. No entries will be accepted after this date. Entries will be uploaded to the Embassy’s Facebook page and Twitter account (@ukinsaudiarabia using #SportisGREAT and #الحركةبركة) where visitors to the page will have a chance to view the best pictures.

In entering this competition participants agree to waive copyright to allow the FCO to use your image without restrictions, although credit will be given where appropriate.

The British Embassy will own the copyright of all photos submitted and will be free to use them on their websites and publications without reference or any compensation, permission or notification to the contestant or any third party.

The winner will be decided by a jury of embassy staff and notified by an email after the closing date. This decision will be final and no appeals will be entertained. Prizes must be collected from the British Embassy in Riyadh; Trade office in Al Khobar or Consulate in Jeddah.
