Rationalisation of notarial and documentary services in Albania
With effect from 1 March 2014, notarial and documentary services that can be performed by an alternative provider in Albania will no longer be offered by the British Embassy in Tirana.
With effect from 1 March 2014, notarial and documentary services that can be performed by an alternative provider in Albania, for example by Notaries Public/local lawyers, will no longer be offered by the British Embassy in Tirana.

Only services appearing below will be offered by TIRANA after 1st April 2014.
Notarial
- Informative Notes (on website)
- ORSU agreed Personalised Informative Notes & Letters
- Certified photocopies of British passports
- Certified photocopies of UK educational documents
Documentary Services
- Verifying photocopies of UK educatonal certificates and uniting documents
- Receiving Notice of Marriage (might be subject to change during 2014)
- Issuing Certificate of Non Impediment (might be subject to change during 2014)
- Birth / Death registration [scheduled to be removed sometimes in 2014]
- Making a search in Birth or Death registers [scheduled to be removed sometimes in 2014]

Please note: if you have UK documents which are required for use outside the UK, you will need to have them first notarised in the UK and then legalised by the FCO Legalisation Office.
