Sri Lanka is a market of 21 million people with an established and growing middle class. UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Sri Lanka’s 3 day event offers the opportunity for UK companies to find out more about opportunities in this market.

Opportunities

There are opportunities in a range of sectors in Sri Lanka, but particularly in:

  • education and training
  • infrastructure
  • energy

Programme highlights

Day 1 – Thursday 27th November 2014

Gain insight to key sectors and opportunities for British companies through engagement with high level Sri Lankan ministerial and corporate personalities. End the day with a business networking reception hosted by the British High Commissioner. The National cricket teams from England and Sri Lanka will also be in attendance.

Day 2 – Friday 29th November 2014

A morning of panel discussions and Q&A as big UK brands/ companies operating in Sri Lanka share their experiences. The afternoon will take you on a visit to the Colombo sea port. Attend the annual St. Andrew’s Day black tie ball – a networking opportunity with Colombo’s expat community and high flying corporate contacts. (Ticketed event with limited seats available)

Day 3 – Saturday 29th November 2014

Attend the Sri Lanka vs. England second ODI You will have the opportunity to have lunch with legendary cricketers while networking with big hitters in the corporate world.

This will be a ticketed event in aid of a Sri Lankan charity, the Foundation for Goodness. This will support their work in providing opportunities for disadvantaged rural youth and children.

Deadline for Registrations is 22 October 2014.

Costs

A Registration fee of £50 provides access to all activities except the 2 ticketed events. Rates for ticketed events will be notified on enquiry and purchases can be arranged at the time of registration. Check with UKTI Sri Lanka for discounted rates on airfare and accommodation, courtesy of Sri Lankan Airlines and the Cinnamon Grand Hotel. Customised introductory meetings and other services can be arranged for the following week via UKTI’s chargeable Overseas Market Introduction Service.
