Priority visas to be opened up to other categories for South India

The service will initially be available in Bangalore with plans to expand to the rest of South India in the near future.

The British Deputy High Commission Chennai has today announced the launch of a pilot to extend the categories which can use the service of Priority Visas for UK visa applicants. It will therefore allow applicants applying in all categories except the Settlement route or as Tier 4 student to use this service.

The service will be piloted in Bangalore and will be available for those applicants who apply at our visa application centre in Bangalore from 30 June 2014. There are limited slots available per day. The service will initially be available in Bangalore with plans to expand to the rest of South India in the near future.

Priority Visas are a user-pay service which enables customers to experience a faster processing service of their applications; where our customer service agreement is to aim to process these applications within 5 working days.

Further Information:

  • The Priority Visa service is an optional service and incurs an additional fee.

  • The fee for the Priority Visa service is INR10500 including taxes plus the standard fee for the type of visa being applied for.

  • Further information about the fees, eligibility criteria and how to schedule an appointment are available at VFS website.

  • Applicants who have already lodged an application with the British Deputy High Commission in Chennai before 30 June will not be able to access this service.
