Online cartoon draws attention to importance of tackling climate change
‘Noru - the transporter’, a series of climate change-themed online cartoons, will be launched by the British Embassy Tokyo on 25 April.

Noru is an 18 chapter online cartoon (‘webtoon’) series developed in South Korea in conjunction with the British Embassy Seoul and Nulook Media.
Set in a cold post-apocalyptic world where small groups of survivors struggle for food and water, a visitor (the narrator) arrives from another planet which is about to suffer the same fate. He observes the central character, a member of a global organisation, who has embarked on a quest to turn the planet’s fortunes around. The central character’s battles pits him against a whole range of climate problems ranging from desertification and refugees to food and water shortage.
The British Embassy Tokyo will be launching a Japanese version to be made available for 6 months. With its innovative style and themes of relevance to today’s world, the webtoon is expected to capture the imagination of audiences in Japan, encouraging them to think more about the climate challenge.
