The manual, which will be designed by Peru’s National Audit Office with UK expertise support, will be made available to authorities, government officials and citizens, all of whom can help identify potential risks for fraud and corruption in the different stages of public procurement processes. By doing this, the implementation of internal control measures in public organisations, as well as public participation will be further encouraged.

The manual’s development and production is being carried out with the support of the British Embassy in Peru, and is part of the United Kingdom’s efforts to promote transparency around the world.

The British organisation Gov Risk (the International Governance and Risk Institute) will support Peru’s National Audit Office in the development and production of the manual based on international experience in preventing fraud and corruption in public procurement, as well as local cases identified by the audits control actions in the last few years. “The guidance for the implementation of strategies will be based not only on the best international practices, but also on Peru’s emblematic fraud case studies”, explained Mark Willcock, Project Manager at GovRisk.
