The Embassy has facilitated the development of an in-depth list of English speaking lawyers and interpreters in Bulgaria. The list combines four main areas: Company Law, Criminal Law, Family Law and Property Law. These areas have been identified as the most often inquired. Over 30 English-speaking law offices across the country have contributed pro bono to developing a Frequently Asked Questions document on various legal topics.

Simon Tucker, British Consul to Bulgaria, said:

We developed a better English speaking lawyers and translators list as it is so important for British nationals, whether they are residents buying a house, a company investing in Bulgaria or a tourist in difficulty, to have professional legal advice. We used feedback from British nationals in Bulgaria to identify the four areas of interest to them.

My thanks go to the law offices who, free of charge, developed the Frequently Answered Questions document. I hope this document will be useful for British nationals in Bulgaria. However, it is worth pointing out that this document is a general guide only, it does not address personal circumstances and it in no way replaces the need to professional legal advice.
