Lucy Turnbull to present the 2016 Magna Carta lecture
The annual British High Commission Magna Carta lecture will feature Lucy Turnbull sharing her views on ‘Smart Growth and the Female Factor’.
The topic for the lecture, which takes place tonight at the Powerhouse Theatre in Sydney, has been chosen to complement the British High Commission’s Year of Innovation.
British High Commissioner Menna Rawlings said:

The Magna Carta Lecture series, which began in 2002, aims to celebrate our common values and interests, and to explore current and future issues relevant to both countries.Previous speakers have included Australian Prime and Foreign Ministers, visiting UK ministers and eminent scientists.
Ms Turnbull is an urbanist, businesswoman and philanthropist with a long standing interest in technological and social innovation, and is in many ways the epitome of the high-achieving 21st century Australian woman.
Ms Turnbull sits on many boards, and is also active in the not-for-profit sector. She was the first female Lord Mayor of the City for Sydney and became an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the community. Ms Turnbull is Chief Commissioner of the Greater Sydney Commission, is Chair of Prima BioMed Ltd, a biomedical company undertaking clinical development for an immuno-therapeutic cancer treatment and is a board member of the Grattan Institute.
