During the visit to Chile by the Lord Mayor of London, Lady Mayoress Clare Gifford handed over a donation from Mansion House to Fundación Mi Parque, a local non-profit organisation dedicated to restoring parks and green spaces in underprivileged areas of Santiago.

Dr. Clare Gifford, a renowned British haematologist, visited the Quillahue Special School in Lo Prado, where Fundación Mi Parque is supporting the development of a vegetable garden, a greenhouse and an orchard – all cultivated by the students for self-consumption and to sell fresh produce to the community.

The donation consisted of £1,000 for gardening tools and materials to improve the existing garden area, and two trees which the Lady Mayoress herself helped plant. During this visit, Dr Gifford was accompanied by representatives and volunteers from Fundación Mi Parque and met a group of students and school staff.
