Receptionist & Logistics Officer

The British Embassy in Rabat has an immediate vacancy for the position of Receptionist & Logistics Officer for a period of 11 months.

The successful candidate will report to the HR & Protocol Officer in Rabat and will be part of the Morocco network Corporate services team. We are looking for a dynamic self-starter who works well under pressure and who can build strong working relationships with suppliers (for stationery , hotel bookings…) .

Candidates must have:

  • High standard of spoken and written English (IELTS score of at least 7 or equivalent)
  • Bilingual level of spoken and written French
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently

The following are desirable but not essential :

  • Bilingual level of written and spoken Arabic

The Receptionist & Logistics Officer’s duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Operating the switchboard
  • Welcoming visitors
  • Day to day management of the transport fleet
  • Line management of 2 drivers
  • Office and machinery maintenance
  • Stationary supplies
  • Hotel bookings
  • Handing check payments to suppliers
  • Petty cash holder for postage
  • General management support

The key competences for this job, which will be tested at interview, will be:

  • Engaging People (Leading and Communicating, Collaborating and Partnering)
  • Delivering Results (Managing a Quality Service, Delivering at Pace)

The monthly gross salary for this job will be DH 9597. The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background and security clearance.

Projects Assistant

This exciting position is part of our aim to develop a stronger and deeper relationship between the United Kingdom and Morocco.

JOB VACANCY: Projects Assistant

The British Embassy invites applications for the position of a projects assistant. This is a key position delivering a range of Embassy project work, including our main fund: the Arab Partnership Programme Fund. We are looking for a dynamic self-starter who has experience of project and budget management and who can build strong working relationships with local and international NGOs and other Embassies. The successful candidate will also be involved in events planning and organisation as well as the lead on projects’ communications. The officer will sometimes be asked to assist on other areas. This position will be for a limited period starting the 1st October 2014 and ending on 31 March 2015 with possibility of an extension pending funding decisions.

Candidates must have:

  • Strong project and budget management experience
  • High standard of spoken and written English (IELTS score of at least 7 or equivalent)
  • Bilingual level of spoken and written French
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently

The following are desirable but not essential:

  • Bilingual level of written and spoken Arabic
  • Experience of working with civil society and international institutions

Finance Management Provide support for the implementation of the British Embassy projects, including liaising with implementers, processing payments, and ensuring projects are on budget 50%

Project Management Lead on reporting to London on project financial issues, including highlighting risks of under/overspend, updating the project portfolio and providing quarterly project updates 20%

Information Management Proactively act as information officer for the team, drafting website articles, compiling the internal monthly newsletter and maintaining the projects section contact database 20%

Events management Assist the projects team and the wider chancery team on events, including logistics, booking facilities, assisting on visitor programmes etc 10%
