High Commissioner to Mauritius presents credentials

Jonathan Drew meets President of the Republic to present credentials

The new British High Commissioner, Mr Jonathan Drew, presented his credentials on 19 August 2014 to His Excellency Kailash Purryag, President of the Republic of Mauritius.

On presenting his credentials, High Commissioner Jonathan Drew said:

“I am delighted and honoured to be here in Mauritius. Although I have just arrived, the warm spirit and deep hospitality of Mauritians is clear to see. The UK and Mauritius have a long, shared history of cooperation and I am looking forward to working closely with the Government of Mauritius on a wide range of key international issues and to further strengthening our trade partnership in critical sectors, in particular in tertiary education, financial services and the ocean economy.”
