High commission works to improve conditions in Jamaican prisons
We are helping the Jamaican government improve conditions in lower risk institutions such as New Broughton and Diamond Crest.
Chickens reared to provide eggs and meat to be supplied to the Department of Corrections
The migration team under the Rehabilitation and Reintegration Fund (RRF) is providing support to the government through a range of initiatives.
The RRF has helped the New Broughton Prison in Manchester start a poultry farm which supplies the other institutions within the Department of Corrections network with eggs and chickens. New Broughton is located in Manchester and is home to 29 men over the age of 55 years

The RRF funds has also provided funding to the Diamond Crest facility to establish a home economics centre where the girls can learn to cook and complete pastry making courses. Diamond Crest is an institution for girls from the age of 13 to 17. All 39 girls in the institution, are completing full time school with 9 taking their exams this year.
