Greek Prime Minister’s condolences for Lady Thatcher, “an inspiring leader and reformer”

The Prime Minister of Greece, Mr Antonis Samaras, has signed the book of condolence for Lady Thatcher

The Prime Minister of Greece, Mr Antonis Samaras, has today signed the book of condolence for Lady Thatcher, which was opened at the British Residence earlier this week. The Prime Minister wrote that he would always remember Lady Thatcher as “an inspiring leader and reformer”.

Lady Thatcher died on 8 April 2013 in London at the age of 87. Serving from 1979 to 1990, she was the UK’s first female Prime Minister and the longest serving of the 20th century.

Prime Minister David Cameron and Foreign Secretary William Hague have made statements following the death of Lady Thatcher.

The book of condolence will remain open until Wednesday 17 April between 11:00 – 14:00 (except on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April).
