GREAT campaign launches in Turkey
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg addresses annual Uludağ Economic Summit as part of GREAT campaign launch.
The UK’s GREAT campaign was launched in Turkey last month at the annual Uludağ Economic Summit - known locally as the “Turkish Davos”. As part of the launch, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg addressed the audience for a gala dinner via video message. In his message, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the UK’s ambition to double the volume of bilateral trade with Turkey by 2015.
The Turkish Finance Minister, Mehmet Şimşek underlined his support for this goal, and his belief that the UK would become the EU’s biggest economy by 2050 (with Turkey in second place).
Five hundred representatives from Turkey’s business elite attended the summit, making it an ideal platform to promote the UK’s GREAT campaign trade and investment messages.
