Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister regrets executions in Japan

Following the execution of two prisoners in Japan, FCO Minister Hugo Swire urged Japan to reconsider its use of the death penalty.

We have learned with regret that Japan carried out two further executions on 29 August. We continue to urge our partners all over the world to join what is a clear global trend towards abolition
