English is GREAT

English Week will run from 23 to 28 September

The “English Week contest” has been launched by the Buenos Aires City Foreign Language Operational Office (Dirección Operativa de Lenguas Extranjeras GCBA) and the English Teachers Association of Buenos Aires (APIBA, in Spanish) to enable teachers in the city to share the intercultural experiences of their students.

The competition is part of the English Week, an initiative coordinated by the British Embassy in Buenos Aires, which will run from 23 to 28 September, grouping different activities related to English language, taken as a communications tool and a gateway to other cultures. Those interested in taking part must send a PDF presentation (7-10 slides long) to idiomas@buenosaires.gob.ar.

The presentation must showcase intercultural experience productions prepared by students in their English classes. Also, an online form must be completed with a short summary (75-100 words) as well as with the teacher’s and school’s details. Only English language teachers –from any level- who work in the State system in the City of Buenos Aires can enter the contest.

Presentations can be sent until 25 August 2013 and a specialist Jury will select the best presentations.

The winners will be announced at the FAAPI Congress Welcome Cocktail, on 26 September 2013. Also, the winning presentations will be available online on the following sites:
