On the afternoon of Thursday 15 January 2015, The British Ambassador, HE Robin Barnett, and the Defence Attaché, Group Captain David Houghton, hosted a group of Polish military veterans who fought under British and Allied Command during World War 2 to a traditional ‘English Afternoon Tea’ at the British Embassy.

This relaxed and informal New Year event allowed the invited guests, among whom were serving Polish Officers, representatives of veterans’ associations and Polish Museums, as well as Embassy Staff, to meet and chat with some true Polish heroes who fought so gallantly alongside British forces for our freedom and of course … take some afternoon tea. We also raised a toast or two to the Veterans’ health.

During the event, the guests had an opportunity to listen to a string quartet formed by young Polish artists whom we have the pleasure to invite to our regular Afternoon Tea with the Veterans events.
