UKVI is introducing changes to UK visa handling in Brunei, bringing arrangements here into line with other countries in the region.
From 1 December 2015, UKVI’s application point will move from the British High Commission to Regus, on the 8th floor of the PGGMB Building in Bandar Seri Begawan. The new application point will be operated by VFS Global, our commercial partner across the Asia Pacific region.
This move will mainly affect Bruneians wanting to study, work and settle in the UK as well as visa nationals from other countries. Bruneians do not ordinarily require a visa to visit the UK for six months or less if they do not intend to work or get married.
The move will help UKVI meet its global commitment to provide a consistently high quality service to all its customers worldwide. UKVI will offer a flexible appointment system which will match visa demand throughout the year, particularly during the peak season for student applications.
Visa applicants will now be required to pay a £52 fee in addition to the price of their visa to use the new application point. This fee will include the courier return of their passport to a chosen address meaning collection will no longer be necessary. These new arrangements will allow UKVI to provide a high quality, customer focussed and more accessible service which meets the needs of all applicants in Brunei.
UKVI will offer over 100 appointment days annually. These will be spread throughout the year to match varying visa demand. The dates for these clinics will be publicised in advance by our commercial provider VFS Global. The visa application centre will be open from 9am to 2pm, but hours will be extended during peak periods to ensure that there is sufficient appointment availability for customers.
