British companies showcased the latest in military technology at SITDEF Peru

Companies participated in SITDEF Peru with support from UK Trade & Investment Defence & Security Organisation (UKTI DSO).

British military technology at SITDEF Peru

UK companies Agusta Westland, Thales UK, Selex ES and Surrey Satellite Technology Limited displayed their products and services for the sectors of defence, security and safety, and prevention of natural disasters at the British Pavilion in the International Exhibition of Technology for Defence and Natural Disasters Prevention (SITDEF Peru). The event was held from 15 to 19 May at Peru´s Army Headquarters.

The Chief of Peru’s Joint Army Command, Jose Cueto, highlighted how important the event is in providing information about innovations in war and defence equipment technology. Over 100 companies from 28 countries took part in SITDEF Peru.

Surrey Satellite Technology Limited, worldwide leader in innovation on mini satellites, presented their proposal for the implementation of the Peruvian Satellite System. Additionally, Agusta Westland presented the latest in helicopters technology; Selex ES showcased the electronic and information technology it uses for defence systems, aerospace, data, infrastructure, safety and territory protection. Also present at SITDEF Peru was Thales UK, a company that produces a range of short-range missile systems.

SITDEF Peru is a commercial and cultural event, organised every two years by the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of Peru. Its objective is to gather national and international companies specialised in the development and production of state of the arts technology to prevent natural disasters and national defence.

Other British companies like BAE Systems, Ultra GigaSat, Cobham Tactical Communications & Surveillance, Sperry Marine and the UK subsidiary of Heckler & Koch also took part in SITDEF Peru.
