“I am delighted to be launching the British Chamber of Commerce this Thursday. The Chamber was established in recognition of the increasing number of companies in Zambia of British origin or doing business with Britain.

“I see the role of the Chamber as supporting members in building their business in Zambia and the region. It will also collaborate with other business groupings and foster strong ties with the British Chambers of Commerce, regional counterparts and with UK Trade & Investment.

“Membership is open to British, Zambian and international companies with a common interest in developing UK and Zambia business.

“The UK is committed to support Zambia’s economic growth. The Department for International Development has a suite of programmes aimed at doing just that. But the best motor of growth is a thriving private sector. I am sure that the Chamber will contribute to that. I look forward to trade between our two countries continuing to grow.”

The main objective of the Chamber is to promote trade and investment relations between Zambia and the United Kingdom. The Chamber will also be a voice of British business in Zambia.
