British and Dominican experts will participate in agricultural seminar

“Technological advances in agricultural and livestock production” will take place on 23 October at Salon Quisqueya, Hotel Santo Domingo.

The British Embassy in Santo Domingo, in conjunction with the Dominican Ministry of Agriculture and Junta Agroempresarial –JAD (Dominican Agribusiness Board), will celebrate the seminar “Technological Advances in Agricultural and livestock Production” on Wednesday 23 October at Salon Quisqueya, Hotel Santo Domingo.

The seminar will be in charge of the UK’s Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) and will touch the following subjects:

  • Dairy and meat genetics

  • Dairy production

  • Best practices in agriculture and the food industry

  • Improvement of Technical and Commercial yield in cattle and meat chain

  • Potato genetics, disease resistance, types of potatoes for the Caribbean

  • Education and training in agriculture and livestock

This event is part of a series of activities organized with the Dominican Ministry of Agriculture and the JAD who organized guided visits to various farms for a more in-depth exchange with the members of the mission will take place.
