This year the annual Service of Remembrance will take place on 9 November, Sunday, at Sofia Central Cemetery. The gathering commemorates those who have died as a result of war. The service will start promptly at 10.50am at the British Military Cemetery to be followed by services at the French, German and Italian military cemeteries. In Sofia, UK, Ireland, Germany, France and Italy remember the fallen at a joint ceremony.

A Service of Remembrance will also be held in Plovdiv on 11 November, Tuesday, at 11am at the British Military Cemetery within Plovdiv Cemetery. In Plovdiv, the ceremony is jointly organised by the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Poppies are on sale at British Embassy Sofia, British Council Bulgaria, Sofia Central Cemetery, Plovdiv Cemetery and Anglo American School in Sofia. All donations go to the Royal British Legion to help ex-servicemen.

All are welcome to join.
