The awards encourage exporting efforts to and from the UK
The Golden Bridge Awards, organised by the Belgian Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce Belgium and UK Trade & Investment, celebrate excellence in exporting from Belgium and Luxembourg to the UK and from the UK to Belgium and Luxembourg. The purpose of the awards is to encourage exporting efforts to and from the UK and give Belgian, Luxembourgish and British products and services a higher profile abroad.
The Gala Ceremony was held at the prestigious Club House Headquarters in London with the Awards being presented by and in the presence of the British Ambassador to Belgium Jonathan Brenton, the Belgian Ambassador to the UK, Johan Verbeke, and the Luxembourgish Ambassador to the UK, Patrick Engelberg.
Tonight is a celebration of the close ties between Belgium, Luxembourg and the UK. We had excellent candidates and again it was a difficult choice for the panel.
Now in its seventeenth year, the top Golden Bridge Export Award for Belgian exports to the UK was won by le Pain Quotidien, the Brussels-based restaurant chain. Chemicar from Zwijndrecht was awarded Best Exporting SME to the UK and Codipro, based in Luxembourg, won as Best Newcomer.
The Golden Bridge Export Award was presented to consulting firm 4C Associates, Real Good Food Europe won Best British Newcomer and Weedfree on Track won the Best Sustainable Innovation in Export prize.
The Awards were a great success, seeing the first ever winner from Luxembourg, in addition to a successful group of contenders from Belgium, and proving to UK companies that Belgium is a good starter market for exports.
