Details

  • Total landings by UK vessels increased in March 2022 compared to 2021, up 2 per cent at 60 thousand tonnes. The value of landings in March 2022 (£58.8 million) was down compared to 2021 by 4 per cent.

  • Landings in March 2022 comprised mostly of pelagic species. This was driven by high landings of Blue Whiting which is usually a highly targeted fishery during the spawning season between February and March each year, where the fish are at their largest and most desirable.
