The Code of Practice for Official Statistics says that only people needed to produce, publish, quality assure or manage the release of statistics should have access to them before publication.
Pre-release access can only be given in line with The Pre-release Access to Official Statistics Order 2008, and records must be published showing who had access before publication.
This document lists the ministers and officials in the Department for Business and Trade who received 24-hour pre-release access.
