Since publication, further quality assurance of the data has confirmed that the ‘any other white background’ category was incorrectly included in the minority ethnic groups data for 2020. The changes are small and do not affect the overall findings of the reports, only the minority ethnic group led figures. The revisions are summarised here:

Error 1: SME Employers

  • Extent of the error: Minority ethnic group led SME employers revised from 6% to 5%
  • Years affected: 2020
  • Breakdowns affected: Minority ethnic groups
  • Data table affected: Table 27

Error 2: SME no employees

  • Extent of the error: Minority ethnic group led no employees revised from 6% to 4%
  • Years affected: 2020
  • Breakdowns affected: Minority ethnic groups
  • Data table affected: Table 27

As a result of the revisions, tables 27 for SME employers and no employees are now updated, along with the associated reports, text and charts.
