This publication presents an estimate of the proportion of female offenders with child dependents in their care at the time of their disposal in 2012, using linked data between the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Work and Pensions. The data are broken down by age group, ethnicity, disposal type and offence type.

This information is being published now because there is public interest in this area and also so that the figures can inform discussion at the October Advisory Board on Female Offenders.
