Details

This publication looks at countryside maintenance and management in England. Whilst many farmers have always been interested in protecting the habitats on and around their farms, reforms to government payments and the concept of “cross-compliance” introduced in 2005 alongside the Single Payment Scheme mean that almost all farmers have to now consider these issues. These results show which environmental activities are being carried out and the costs associated with these activities. The information comes from the Farm Business Survey (FBS).
