For individual months, April to June 2014, average speeds on local ‘A’ roads in England were slower in April, May and June 2014, with decreases of 1.5%, 4.0% and 3.6% respectively, compared to the same months in 2013
Over the longer term a combination of increases in traffic on the ‘A’ road network and increased levels of rainfall is likely to have contributed to the fall in speeds observed between March 2012 and June 2014.
