Cold Weather Payment estimates: 2020 to 2021

  1. 18 August 2021

     Published a corrected version of the Cold Weather Payment data tables, 1 November 2020 and 31 March 2021. An error with the previous version underestimated the number of working age claimants who are eligible to receive Cold Weather Payments. Previously, a total of 3.6 million people were estimated to be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment; this is now 4 million. As such, estimated expenditure has increased as well, from £98.8 million to £100.7 million.

     Published the latest Cold Weather Payment (CWP) estimates with data to 31 March 2021. This is the final release of CWP estimates for the 2020 to 2021 season.
