Provides the only official government estimates of the total number of businesses in the UK private sector. Previously known as ‘Small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) statistics for the UK and regions’. This new version uses an improved methodology. Underlying data for this publication is also available in a machine processable format on the Transparency/Report Data webpage.
