Details

Statistics on data parking badges for disabled people (‘Blue Badges’) in England. The main blue badge statistics are derived from the Blue Badge Improvement Service (BBIS) database.

For badges held as at 31 March 2016:

  • 2.38 million were held
  • 42% were issued without further assessment
  • 4.3% of the population held a Blue Badge

For badges issued between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2016:

  • 885,000 were issued
  • 42% were issued without further assessment
