Bovine TB statistics

Statistics about tuberculosis (TB) in cattle in Great Britain.

This series includes the accredited official statistic publications on tuberculosis (TB) in cattle (bovine TB) in each of the three countries in Great Britain: England, Scotland, Wales. The statistics are reported at the county level for all countries, at the TB risk area level for England, and at the TB area level for Wales. It is important to note that TB control is a devolved policy, and as such control policies differ across the three countries as outlined in the releases and supplementary material.

From 1 July 2025 https://tbstatistics.github.io/interactive_dashboard/ is temporarily the only way of viewing the TB interactive dashboard. We are aware that it may take several minutes to load, particularly over a slow internet connection.  Work is underway to improve its functionality.

Our Bovine TB in cattle in Great Britain user feedback survey ran in June and July 2020. We have published our response to the comments received.

Additional statistics relating to bovine TB are available from the National Archive.
