Local tobacco control profiles for England: February 2017 data update

The Local Tobacco Control Profiles for England provides a snapshot of the extent of tobacco use, tobacco related harm, and measures being taken to reduce this harm at local level. This data update will include: addition of inequalities data for smoking prevalence in adults (APS); smoking prevalence in adults – current smokers (QOF); smoking prevalence in adults – current smokers (GPPS); smoking prevalence in adults – ex-smokers (GPPS); smoking prevalence in adults – never smoked (GPPS); Illicit tobacco: tax gap; Illicit tobacco: share of cigarette sales; potential years of life lost due to smoking-related illness; stillbirth rate; neonatal mortality rate. The profiles have been designed to help local government and health services assess the effect of tobacco on their local populations. The tool allows you to compare your local authority with others in the region and benchmark against the England average.
