Birth ratios in Great Britain: gender ratios at birth in Great Britain, 2010 to 2014
This publication analyses male to female birth ratios in Great Britain for the period 2010 to 2014, alongside a breakdown by mother’s country of birth and ethnicity of the child. This analysis will show whether any group is found to have a gender ratio that is different from the naturally expected range, to indicate evidence or absence of evidence of sex selection occurring in Great Britain. From this point onwards the birth ratio analysis output will be published annually as an Official Statistic. Birth ratio analyses have previously been carried out as ad hoc in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
