Youth justice: barriers to education, training and employment

A summary of research into how young people in the justice system have difficulty engaging in education, training or employment.

This research was carried out between 2003 and 2004, and includes evidence from:

  • a survey carried out by Youth Offending Teams (YOTs)
  • data gathered from the asset assessment tool
  • interviews held with staff and young people

The report gives recommendations on how to engage young people and get them more involved.
