Yorkshire Wildlife Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from Warmsworth Beck near Loversall, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, to transfer it to a new proposed wetland at National Grid References (NGRs): SK 56585 99001 and SK 56705 98883 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

720 cubic metres an hour

17,280 cubic metres a day

6,307,200 cubic metres a year

between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
Further details are: The proposal is to divert the normal flow of Warmsworth Beck using two impoundments to create two areas of throughflow for a wetland to be created on the site of farmland located adjacent to the brook. Water will be discharged back to Warmsworth Beck at NGRs: SK 56688 98898 and SK 56752 98885 downstream.
