This report examines the relationship between pupils’ attendance in 2 academic years – 2021 to 2022 and 2022 to 2023. This is broken down by pupil year groups.
It applies stochastic matrices to census data to show the likelihood that a pupil will be in a particular 5% band of absence in 2022 to 2023, based on their absence band in 2021 to 2022.
