We have a received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following:
With regards to A8 European citizens coming to the UK, from 2001 to date, can you please tell me, country by country and yearly quarter by quarter:
§ The number registered on the Worker Registration Scheme.
§ The number working in the UK but not on the Worker Registration Scheme.
§ The number penalised for working in the UK but not on the Worker Registration Scheme and what form(s) such penalisation took.
§ The number of employers employing those not on the Worker Registration Scheme; the numbers of employees involved and the actions that were taken as a result - including any penalisations.
§ The number of requests for confirmation that such nationals were/are on the Worker Registration Scheme received from the DWP, the IR and Job Centres (individual figures for each agency please).
§ The actions taken against persistent offenders found to repeatedly work within the UK but not on the Worker Registration Scheme.
§ The number of such nationals who were on the Worker Registration Scheme but who then left the UK.
§ The number of such nationals, on the Worker Registration Scheme or otherwise, found to be paid below the minimum wage and the action taken against the employer.
