This document gives guidance on the principles of cost-benefit analysis and how they should be applied in the context of transport appraisals.

In November 2014 this TAG unit was updated to provide guidance on how Network Rail costs should be treated and reported in appraisal following the decision to reclassify Network Rail as a central government body.

The previous version of this unit was TAG unit A1-1cost benefit analysis, January 2014.
