Your feedback is being analysed. The Environment Agency consulted on this proposal for change between 10 October 2015 and 10 November 2015.

The Environment Agency proposes to change the existing main river map at Weatherhill Stream, Smallfield, Tandridge.

It proposes these changes as a ‘determination’ under section 193C(1) of the Water Resources Act 1991. A determination is a formal decision to change the main river map.

The proposed determination is that the Environment Agency shall correct the main river map:

  • between national grid reference (NGR) TQ 3100 243621 and NGR TQ 30708 43606
  • between NGR TQ 30990 43613 and NGR TQ 30708 43606
  • between NGR TQ 31779 43221 and NGR TQ 32011 43148
  • between NGR TQ 32005 43148 and NGR TQ 31797 43219

For each correction, the main river is to be the watercourse shown as an ‘addition’ on the main river consultation map rather than the watercourse shown as a ‘deletion’.

These changes mean that the map would show the correct location of the watercourse. They do not change who has power to carry out flood risk management work on the watercourse.

The Environment Agency identified several misalignments at various points along the Weatherhill Stream. Current survey data and local knowledge helped us in correcting these misalignments.

1. How to view the proposed changes

You can see the proposals on the main river consultation map:

The green line (‘addition’) on the map is the proposed new line to show the correct position of the watercourse. The red line (‘deletion’) is the incorrect line, which would be deleted. Or you can see the main river consultation maps at:
