Monthly reports on rainfall, soil moisture deficit, river flows, groundwater levels and reservoir levels.

     Removed a sentence from the 'Reservoir storage' section on the August, September and October reports. This incorrectly said that these totals were the lowest on record for the end of each month since records started in 1988.

     Added December 2022 water situation report.

  3. 14 December 2022

     Added November 2022 water situation report.

  4. 15 November 2022

     Added the October 2022 report. To make the report more accessible, the summary is now also published as a webpage. The design of the PDF full report has been revised, but the same maps, charts and analysis are provided.

Details

These reports collect information from the Environment Agency, the Met Office and water companies that measure and monitor:

• the amount of rain that falls
• how dry the soils are and how much rain they can soak up
• the amount of water flowing in rivers
• the amount of water stored below ground in aquifers and above ground in reservoirs

They also present the outlook for river flow and groundwater.
